Major Layoffs by Casino may hurt limo business
The thriving limo business of Biloxi may be declining in the volatile economic right now, and the layoff of casino employees up and down the beach can’t be helping. The Beau Rivage has laid-off an undisclosed number of employees, but they have been wide ranging from janitors to assistant managers and managers.
Not helping is the fact that Harah’s has posted huge third quarter losses in the area of $129 Million. They attribute it to the Las Vegas slump as well as the forced closings of its Biloxi properties. However, this is also due to the slower tourist trade in the fall, and soon should rebound.
